NON-ALCOHOLIC KIR ROYALE

One of the most popular cocktails for special occasions, Kir Royale is simple yet effective. Wow your guests with this delicious non-alcoholic Kir Royale. Noughty Organic Alcohol-Free Sparking Chardonnay lends an authentic taste to this classic drink. Whether you are providing a non-alcoholic option or catering for a fully alcohol-free gathering, this is going to be a popular cocktail. Be sure to make more than you think you will need!

The history of Kir Royale

Legend has it that Kir Royale was first created by a Catholic priest. Canon Felix Kir lived in Dijon in France. A local hero, he helped many prisoners of war to escape from a local concentration camp. When the Nazis confiscated all red wine from Dijon, Kir invented his cocktail using sparkling white.

They say necessity is the mother of invention and that certainly seems to be the case here. Consumption of Kir Royale did not end with World War II. Instead, its popularity has continued to grow over the years.

These days, cocktail connoisseurs can enjoy Cidre Royale, substituting sparkling white wine with Cider. Hibiscus Royale replaces blackcurrant with peach and raspberry liqueur. And now, at last, we have non-alcoholic Kir Royale.

Why we love non-alcoholic Kir Royale

Synonymous with luxurious celebration, Kir Royale has been begging for an alcohol-free version for many years. Now, Noughty non-alcoholic Chardonnay makes it a reality. With all the flavour of your favourite sparkling wine and none of the alcohol, this is the perfect base for your Kir Royale.

Whilst some fruit-based cocktails are very seasonal, non-alcoholic Kir Royale can be enjoyed all year round. Even when blackberries are in season, you might still choose to use a frozen one to chill your drink as well as adding flavour.

If you are making this as a healthy option, rest assured that Noughty Sparkling Chardonnay is organic and vegan as well as alcohol free. It contains just 2.9 grams of sugar per 100 ml and 14 calories per glass. To further reduce your calorie and sugar consumption, we suggest using reduced sugar blackcurrant syrup. If you don't have it, standard blackcurrant syrup will do the job as well.

How to make it

As well as being impressively luxurious and extremely delicious, our non-alcoholic Kir Royale is super easy to make. Ingredients are readily available all year round, with alternatives available. Can't find fresh or frozen blackberries? Try an alcohol-free Raspberry Royale instead! If you decide to go for raspberry instead of blackberry, you may want to substitute alcohol-free Chardonnay for alcohol-free Rosé. This will give you a beautiful pink colour that transforms the cocktail into a blushing, bubbly spectacle. We suggest using raspberry syrup instead of blackcurrant if you decide to go down this route.
